DIY Magnetic Insect Screen Singapore: Windows with Protruding Handle

Due to the protruding locking handle of Casement / Top-hung window, we recommend installing additional PVC tube (A4) to keep insect screen away from the handle.

PVC tube is secured to window frame with adhesive tape

What do you need.....

A4 PVC Tube at S$6 per metre. A4 Corner joint sold separately at S$4 per set (4 Pieces)

Easily cut PVC tube to size with a mini hack saw

Foam adhesive tape provided on 1 side of PVC tube

Assemble PVC tube with 4 corners & install insect screen on PVC tube

Remove adhesive tape cover & paste PVC tube to window frame

Install insect screen on PVC tube

Also available are A5 PVC Tube (Depth: 50mm)

As follow up, I installed the magnetic fly screens as per instructions. The results are more than satisfactory. Challenges included tensioning the flyscreen, and securing the magnetic strip to frame with the fly screen in the channel. eventually completed. results are good. it works. Next time I wouldn't choose white magnetic frame for the coffee brown aluminium frame. otherwise, all is good. Thank you......David W

Received the item within two days from order. It was challenging to install the item but not hard. Just need to measure the windows correctly and cut accordingly. Great product!..... jul***

Have fixed the screen, small window easier to fix as screen is more sturd. Bigger one easy too but abit filmsy so need 2 person to fix. Overall great products n thks for it.....Cherie

Just to share with you, I have good success with the kitchen gate which pasted onto wrought iron. It works & looks good. The black mesh looks invisible.....Jason

Really like the product very much except i find that the plastic smell was a bit strong ... think it is going off slowly..... Hai San
